You can apply additional sorting operations in an orderby clause by separating the characteristics to sort by with a comma (,), as demonstrated by Listing 27-17. Listing 27-17. Applying Multiple Sorts using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; class Listing 17 { static void Main(string[] args) { List<string> myFruitList = new List<string>() { "apple", "plum", "cherry", "grape", "banana", "pear", "mango" , "persimmon", "lemon", "lime", "coconut", "pineapple", "orange"}; var results = from e in myFruitList orderby e.Length descending, e[1] , e[2] select e; foreach (var item in results) { Console.WriteLine("Result item: {0}", item); } birt barcode tool Eclipse Birt Barcode Component - J4L Components

Compiling and running Listing 27-17 produces the following results: Result item: persimmon Result item: pineapple Result item: coconut Result item: banana Result item: cherry Result item: orange Result item: mango Result item: lemon Result item: apple Result item: grape Result item: pear Result item: lime Result item: plum Press enter to finish XmlElement XmlElementDecl XmlElementRef XmlElementRefs XmlElements XmlElementWrapper XmlEnum XmlEnumValue XmlID XmlIDREF XmlInlineBinaryData XmlList XmlMimeType XmlMixed XmlNs XmlRegistry XmlRootElement XmlSchema XmlSchemaType XmlSchemaTypes XmlTransient XmlType XmlValue birt report barcode font Eclipse BIRT Barcode Maker Add-in - Make 1D and 2D barcodes in ...

Listing 27-18 demonstrates grouping string values based on their first character. Listing 27-18. Grouping Items using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; class Listing 18 { static void Main(string[] args) { List<string> myFruitList = new List<string>() { "apple", "plum", "cherry", "grape", "banana", "pear", "mango" , "persimmon", "lemon", "lime", "coconut", "pineapple", "orange"}; IEnumerable<IGrouping<char, string>> results = from e in myFruitList group e by e[0]; foreach (IGrouping<char, string> group in results) { Before implementing a CRM package it is necessary to understand why nearly half of U. S. implementations and more than 80% of European implementations are considered failures. It s dif cult to fathom failures of such monstrous proportions, especially when complete CRM installations can cost millions of dollars and then hundreds of thousands of dollars more per annum. birt barcode extension BIRT Barcode | Barcode Generator for BIRT Reporting

Console.WriteLine("Group key: {0}", group.Key); foreach (string value in group) { Console.WriteLine("Group item: {0}", value); } } // wait for input before exiting Console.WriteLine("Press enter to finish"); Console.ReadLine(); } } A group clause replaces the select clause, as demonstrated by the query in Listing 27-18. The group clause in Listing 27-18 groups the string values in the data source by their first letter, as illustrated in Figure 27-6. Figure 27-6. The anatomy of a group clause The group keyword is followed by the value you want projected for the current range variable. In the example, I project the entire string value, but you can project anything that you can do in a select clause. The projected value is followed by the by keyword, after which you specify the key by which the projected values will be grouped. The result of a group clause is an IEnumerable<IGrouping<TKey, TValue>>, where TKey is the type of the group key and TValue is the type of the projected value. This relationship is illustrated in Figure 27-7. Figure 27-7. The type relationship in a group query result The IGrouping<TKey, TValue> interface is derived from IEnumerable<TValue> and defines the additional property Key, which returns the TKey value used to group the enumerable values together. In the case of Listing 27-18, the Key property for each IGrouping<char, string> will return a single character, and the collected values will be the fruit names that start with that character. The result from a group clause is an IEnumerable<T>, where T is IGrouping<TKey, TValue>, so a pair of nested foreach loops can be used to process the data, like this: birt barcode maximo Download - OnBarcode.com BIRT Barcode Plugin
